Hello,
error 0x800C0133 means corrupted dbx file.
Please try compacting your meail folders (File>Folder>Compact all folders) on outlook express.
If that does not help, please check this page:

RE: Gmail and Hotmail (Live mail) Account Settings - fizixx - 07-24-2018

Rafael.....

Why can't I access Yahoo mail anymore? My POP/SMTP names and ports are SPOT-ON. My password and log-in credentials are spot-on too. Everything on my end is fine. I can access the account on the web, so why can't OE access it?

When I try to check mail it won't send or receive. It just hangs. The error it gives says it's a password related issue, but I know that is not the case, because I CAN access the account.

"There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'TAH', Server: 'pop.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [SYS/TEMP] Server error - Please try again later.', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92"

I have tried making the typical port and setting changes. I have been through all the settings for a week now. What is happening? Why can't I get OE to connect?

Thanks....

Thomas

Hello Thomas,
your error says that the server is rejecting your account.
Please give a try with another email client (like thunderbird) just for testing and let me know here if it brings same error.

The Hotmail / Live instructions are not correct to enable POP/SMTP

I do not see the Options, only Quick settings and all settings after I login to Hotmail account

Please check again since Microsoft may have changed this at Outlook.com which allows you to access your email accounts

Hi adnetbills

The settings are still similar but after clicking the settings at the top right you have to then click the 'View all Outlook settings' link at the bottom right, then click 'Sync email' and scroll down to the 'Pop and Imap' section (and continue with the instructions above).

I had been trying to connect my SMTP via port 587 as advised there and I was able to use that port for sometime in my original OE running on XP, but kept getting a server error on the RunAsXP OE on Windows 7, then I found this thread showing port 25 used with SSL and that has worked. I had upgraded my XP to TLS 1.2 with latest ciphers and it is odd that some seem to be missing from Win 7 with it not being able to connect to port 587 (StartTLS), still at least it can now work with SSL (TLS) on port 25, so you may have to ignore the port 587 shown there.

If you have problems with the servers shown, then the ones I'm using for POP with a hotmail account and have for a while are as follows:

pop-mail.outlook.com
smtp-mail.outlook.com

I hope the above helps, regards ...John
