Windows 10 updates
We have runasxp's version of Outlook Express running successfuly on a Windows 7 (professional) computer and also on another running Windows 10. Initially Windows 10 automatic updates deleted OE several times and we had to re-install it but this has not happened for about six months. Has Microsoft relented and does it now allow the programme to remain installed? Our computer has not yet had the latest major April update (#1703, I believe), so is it likely to delete OE when we get it? Any advice welcome!

RE: Windows 10 updates
Hello,
Windows 10 major updates removes oe, this still exists. You have to make frequent bakcups or enable updates manually when you have made a backup of oe.

Hi! I am using the latest edition of Windows 10. I can confirm that the Windows updates do not delete OE, at least on my PC. Before the update, I followed the usual OE backup procedure, but was surprised to find that the OE had survived that OS update. That's the good news!

The BAD news is that the OE tends to truncate the content of my messages, especially in replies and in new messages too, although I do not write long messages, using a business-like approach in my correspondence Smile. How to resolve this problem? Any advice will be more than welcome.

RE: Windows 10 updates
My laptop did a major Windows 10 update today when I did a restart. I lost the Outlook Express program and had no choice but to install the program again. Data files were still located in the C drive. However you still have to set up Outlook express with all the information. I have lost the message rules and it looks like I have to rebuild that again. I also lost my address book. Not sure where to look for that. Very frustrating and am worried I won't get things back to normal.

As noticed on download page, you have to read page below bout win 10 updates:

You can try restore tool, that restores oe back to precious state after win 10 update:
