Unable to reopen saved emails

Unable to reopen saved emails
I love that I can now use Outlook Express again.

However, I am finding that I am unable to reopen emails that I have saved to folders elsewhere on my computer. When I save the email to a clients folder I delete it from my Inbox so I cannot go back and reopen it that way.

Could you tell me why this is happening?! It is very frustrating as I do not want them sitting in my Inbox, Sent or Draft folders in OE. I have over 200 clients that I have email communication with and need to save their emails in their respective folders for later access if needed.

When a client wants proof of something in dispute, I need to be able to open a saved email and forward it on to the client. I never had this problem with the old OE and I am hoping that you will tell me of a setting where by I can fix this problem.

Thank you for your time and attention in this extermely serious matter.

RE: Unable to reopen saved emails
Hello,
i gues that you are saving the emails (file>save menu) in a file like .eml file, is that right?
That will work just fine, why you are not able to open the .eml files? do you get any error?

Hello Rafail,

No, I do not get any message when I attempt to reopen the email and, yes, they are saved using file>save menu as a .eml file. All that happens when I go in to a clients folder is I get a flash on the screen and then nothing...no email opens, no message, nothing. Very frustrating! Sure hope you can help!

RE: Unable to reopen saved emails
In Tools > Options that particular area is greyed out signifying that OE is the default mail handler and I have already made OE the default via my Control Panel. Neither setting has successfully enabled me to open saved emails.

I can reopen any emails that remain within my OE client (not saved to any folders outside of OE) anytime I want, but I do not want to have emails cluttering up my OE mailbox. I never had this problem before and I am now considering removing OE and going back to the dreaded WLM.

What can I do to get this fixed?

RE: Unable to reopen saved emails
Ok,
please right click on an .eml file and check if the "opens with" is "outlook express" like on the image below:

If not, please click on "change" button, select "outlook express" on the list and click ok on both windows.

then try opening eml file again
