Sending emails
#1
Interesting problem - just reinstalled OE6 after major computer crash. Everything in OE6 works fine, except that I can't now send an email to an address which is not already in my address book. A window opens if I type a new email address, and unless I then add that address to the address book, OE6 won't allow me to send an email.

Any pointers?  Peter

Hello Peter,
when you create new mail, you cannot type by yourself a receiver's email (TO)??

yes, I can type the receiver's email address, but then a window pops up at the top of the screen which says I can not send the email if the address is not already in the address book. If I then put the new email address in my address book, I can send the email without problem.

That happens only if you do not enter an email address on "TO" and enter a name.
When you enter an email address, it should not ask you to have it on contacts.
Can you please upload a screenshot of that pop-up?

Hi,

I have just reinstalled Outlook Express and tried sending an email to an address not in the address book, and this time it has worked!

Thanks
