Send To > Maill Recipient Missing on list
#1
I am using Windows 7 32-bit Home Premium. Now in addition to oe6_v2.1.1 not being compatible with FF, I have discovered another issue. I had a picture I wanted to email. I right-clicked on the picture for the drop-down menu and chose "Send To". Then the list that opens does not include "Mail Recipient" on it. I have included a screen shot.

SendTo>Mail Receipient should be there even if no outlook express is isntalled.
That option is there on all windows versions by default.
Most likely you have deleted id acidenatlly.
You can re-create that menu following this page:

I followed this procedure but the "Mail recipient" still did not show in the drop down menu "Send to" list. I went to the users default folder and copied the "Mail recipient.MAPIMail" from that Send to folder to users/Geo Send to folder but it still does not appear in the list. When I view the file in the "Send to" folder the icon is not an "envelope" but the icon for Notepad. This file is not shown in the drop down menu Send to list.

My operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium which I just clean installed this past April. I don't know that this feature was ever available but I just recently wanted to use this feature and it was not on the list.

Please read correctly, the file extension must be "MAPIMail" in order to see that envelope icon. Make sure that you have enabled to show file extensions because windows by default does not show them (see how to show file extensions here: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/show-file-...in-windows)

Otherwise, you can download that file directly here:

.zip   Mail Recipient.zip (Size: 186 bytes / Downloads: 6)

Extract the file from zip and copy it to :
Quote:%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\SendTo

I Followed your instructions and downloaded the Mail Recipient.zip file and extracted it. Then I copied, and over wrote the existing file Mail Recipient.MAPIMail in the "Send to" folder. I always have have the "hide file extensions" box unchecked so I can see the file extensions in Windows explorer. The icon is still showing the file as a text file. Here is a screenshot of the "Send to" folder.

it looks like this feature is missing from your windows. Strange, since this is normally a windows feature by default. Is this any special version of windows 7?

i really dont know why this feature is missing from your windows. After a bit searching og google, i found that even on those who 'send to mail recipient is missing', this is being fixed by creating that shortcut manually (like you did). If you have any other windows 7 dvd that you can try to install on another computer, it would be a good idea to try out. Geo, i really want to help but i really cannot figure out why this feature is missing on your windows, normally should not.
