Replying to email selects wrong account
#1
Hello,

This morning I downloaded & donated to use OE on Windows 10, it looks very promising. However, there is a big problem I'm having: I have about 5 accounts set up to which emails are sent. When replying to emails sent to "account 1," and I want to reply, OE will select "account 3" or another one, which causes me to have to check each time I reply whether it's being sent from the correct address. I never had this problem with regular OE, when a message was sent to "account 1" it would be replied from "account 1." It's very odd and unprofessional when recipients receive a response from a different email account. How can I fix this, or can you release an emergency patch? Thank you!

Hello,
Outlook express always (on xp also) replys emails to default email account.

Open your accounts (Tools>Accounts>Mail), select the account that you want as default for replying and click on "Set as default" button.

Rafail,

Yes, I have a certain account set as default, yet when replying to messages the window will select randomly any of the other email accounts, many times not the default one nor the email account the message arrived at. Would you prefer to do a remote screen session so that you can see this, or is this something that can be fixed in the next OE update?

Thank you!

That isn't correct. Outlook Express should reply from the same account that the email was received on. That's how my old (XP) version worked, & that's how this version works for me.

The default account is used when creating NEW emails.

If you Google this problem, you will see that it's some kind of bug in OE that affected some users.
