I note that this topic is marked as resolved, but I am now having the same problem and the solution provided does not work for me. I recently updated to Windows 10 Ver. 1511. For some reason I now get the error message "cannot connect to the server" when I try to activate my registration key. I have added the Outlook Express app to the exceptions in Windows firewall but still getting the error message. What am I doing wrong? Is there something else I must add to the firewall to prevent it from being blocked? Huh

I have just found the solution to this problem elsewhere on the forum.

Thanks. :-)

I hate to necromancy this thread, but it's now happening with the latest version of Windows 10 with Outlook Express 2.2.0. Cannot connect to the server to register.

No firewalls enabled at all while attempting registration. Windows Defender was removed by myself (manually). Everything connects outward. After analyzing all avenues, I've come to the conclusion that it's on the server side.

Yes, the computer is connected to the Internet. I can browse http://www.runasxp.com, as I'm typing this here.

Outlook Express 2.2.0 installs correctly but refuses to register the program after placing in one of my three keys that I received for registration by telling me that it cannot connect to the server.

I just tried it again, and the same result is once more.
