Password retaintion and Updates
#1
I've had my Outlook Express a while now but since the other day it stopped allowing me to send out messages. I've tried everything and even contacted my service providers. I can receive mail with it fine but it will not semd out any. What seems to be the reoccurring issue is that it will not retain the password don't matter how many times it is input it. It there a way to resolve this

Also can these be update? If yes how

It looks like your outbox folder has been stuck.
try the following:
1. make a full backup of your email folders (DBX FILES)
2. check outbox folder in outlook express, if there is any email there remove it and try to send again.
3. if could not send even after emptying outbox folder, compact your folders : File>Folder>Compact all folders and try to send again after compacting finished

I've done what you said but I'm stilll getting the second message. I even reloaded the program. Good thing now is that it is retaining the password

An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'test', Account: '***@***.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.blueyonder.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.0 Sender Domain Invalid (VM424) a6Gmf6mqlRilEC', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC69

I'm realizing now that Outlook Express is seeing my personal email address as not valid "Sender Domain Invalid (VM424)". How do I fix that?

your error says "Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No"
that means that you have set SMTP port 25 without SSL.
Please try SMTP port 465 (With SSL Checked) on your account serttings (Advanced tab).
Also make sure that you have checked the "My server requires authentication" box on your account settings (Servers Tab)

I changed those settings but still get more or less the same error message

"An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'Try', Account: 'TLS', Server: 'smtp.blueyonder.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 5.7.0 Sender Domain Invalid (VM424) dFmWfuKtgOjvGdFmWfpxBu', Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC69"

'550 5.7.0 Sender Domain Invalid' means that your email address seems incorrect.
Please check your account settings again and make sure that you have set your FULL email address as username and your email address again in the 'email address' field

I checked all of that and still getting the same message. Maybe this will help ... I own a Dot Com site and am trying to send messages through my Virgin provider using Outlook Express for my Dot Com email addresses. This is why I got this program and it was working fine up until about 2 months ago. No setting were changed at all and I still recieve mail fine. Just I'm not being allowed to send out any
