Opening eml with OE on Win 10?
#1
Thanks for your software, it seems to work fine. The only minor flaw, as I presently see it, is that saved eml documents cannot be opened on a Windows 10 machine, although OE has been assigned. I need to use Thunderbird as a workaround. Is there a fix for that?

PS: I would also suggest that you change the settings in your forum away from american habits to global standards, and that means most of all a logical date (rising or falling) and 24 hour clock.

hello,
you have to make oe default client and it will open eml files:

Thanks, but it doesn't work, unfortunately: The key is greyed out in OE, despite of my app choice. I'll do it with TB instead.

you ca right click on eml file and click on 'properties'.
then click on 'open with' button and browse to oe installation folder and select 'msimn.exe'

Thanks. This time it did work. Although there still is some 'trash' that I can't get rid off (see attachment), due to the changes taken place since XP.

The blue-marked (by Windows) part looks normal. This is probably the one that refers to C:\Program Files (x86)\Outlook Express\msimn.exe

Watch out for the 2nd entry, the one marked in red by myself. I can see no such path in C:\Program Files, let alone one ending /eml:%1

I would help you if I could, but I have already forgotten the problems I initially had. But I can tell you it's worth persevering: Once it runs, it does just like it did on XP. Good luck!
