OE has suddenly stopped working for me.
#1
Hello ... I started using this version of OE for Win7 and it worked fine for several months. In the past week, one of the email accounts stopped accepting emails. I keep getting error code 0x800C0133 at POP3, Port 995. Then, this morning when I attempted to check for mail at my other two email addresses, I rec'd the same error code that I'm getting at my elsalydia account. Has anything changed in the past few week or so? Thanks so much for any help you can provide.
Elsa

This is the exact error message I'm getting: An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'mail.comcast.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800C0133

Rafail,
Hello and TY for your reply. I have attempted to compact the folders but now I get the following error message:

"The folder is currently in use by Outlook Express or by another application."

I have no idea what this means, as when I pull up the "task manager," it does not show any other instances of OE running.

It appears to begin the compacting (regardless of the error message), but then it just stops after a few seconds and I don't believe it finishes compacting.

Try rebooting your pc and re trying to compact. If still fails, it means that your email folders are corrupt. You can try creating a new blank identity and check if you can send and receive emails.

Rafail,

I did what you suggested but it's still not working. I'm going to have to go back to the email client that I was previously using. The OE only worked for a few months. I need a more reliable and stable email client, as I get copious amounts of emails and can't risk continuously losing them, or not being able to receive them. Thanks for your suggestions.

Elsa, this has to do with wrong account settings or most likly with problem on dbx files (mail folders).
did you tried creating a setup from beginning with blank mail folders and re-creating your account?
