[SOLVED] Cant set Arial Narrow as default font and 'Format' menu is missing
USER: hakeemo
Hi Rafail,
I compared the v1.5.1 of oe you extracted from
xp with the orginal in xp and found the differences as follows:

1. Formatting toolbar is missing in compose window
2. I can not set arial narrow as default font in the
"COMPOSE" tab (no that font in the fonts dialog box)
3."Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail"
is missing in the "security" tab

Is it possible to have them in your new release
version of oe? Many thanks.

RE: Cant set Arial Narrow as default font on Outlook Express
Hi,

You can select Arial narow or any other font as default mail font, just select forst 'Arial' and then on the right box select 'Narrow' .

Block images and other external content is a setting that is only available with xp compatibility, you can change this setting by setting OE on xp compatibility change this setting, and then set oe back without compatibility. On next version it will be by default OFF, so HTML content wont be blocked by default.

Formatting menu is truly missing in the
Traditional Chinese language for oe even though I
maximize the compose window. Yes, it is visible
in the English for oe.

I can't even select Arial in the font dialog box
since I don't find it out, but "Arial" actually
exist in my OS.

Regarding the "Block images and other external content",
it is solved via your instruction. Thanks.

RE: Cant set Arial Narrow as default font on Outlook Express
Arial font is gray (disabled), you must enable it.
Go to control panel>fonts>font settings untick hide fonts and click OK.

This may be the problem for the format menu since as i can see on my pc it is there (with language canged to Chinese)

As for the "Format" menu toolbar, that problem will be fixed on new version soon, since then, you can download inetres.dll (attachment) and replace it on your Outlook express installation directory.

Attached File(s)
.dll  inetres.dll (Size: 47 KB / Downloads: 22)
