[SOLVED] Adding second account
I have registered a second email address with gmail (for work purposes) how can I add this email address to my Outlook Express. Any help would be appreciated.

I did all that, including the reduction of security bit, but I still cannot access my additional account using Outlook Express. The password is correct as it works OK directly on Gmail. Any idea what I am doing wrong. The following is the error message I get.

There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'pop.gmail.com (1)', Server: 'pop.gmail.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [AUTH] Web login required: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/78754 ', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

Make sure you follow all steps for Gmail on above page

I followed all those steps, several times over, including changing the new account name. I went to the link of the error and followed all the instructions but did not set up 2 step verification. I opened the second email account in gmail and kept it open whilst trying to access it from Outlook Express but still got repeated requests for a password.

Same error message:
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Any nore suggestions?

Please contact gmail help, most likely you have locked your account (pop3) due to many tryouts.

Most likely you have locked the POP3 (not web),

check one again that you have enabled access to from gmail:
https://support.google.com/accounts/answ...0255?hl=en

Same issue solved here from another user, the solution was that he enabled less pop access (link above):

If you have enabled access to "less secure apps" on gmail and still cannot logon then you need to contact gmail.
Most likely you have locked pop access

I have already given access to less secure devices, although my other gmail account works fine on the same PC.

Pop access is not locked. Gmail help says "Please note that these lockouts are temporary, and you will be able to access your account again within 24 hours." I left it for 24 hours and it still doesn't work.

Any more thoughts, I'm close to giving up and abandoning Outlook Express.

If your gmail account is locked out, it will not work with other email clients also.
So it is better to try solving that issue.

You can try the following steps as shown on Google forums from other users that had same issue (with other email clients like outlook) and solved.

Start the browser
Sign in to Gmail
If you use 2 step verification, go to your security settings and generate a fresh App Password for your client
Copy the App Password
Go here: https://accounts.google.com/b/0/DisplayUnlockCaptcha - press Continue
Then go back to your client straightaway and try the failed operation again.
When asked for the password enter your account password OR if you use 2 step verification, paste the App Password you copied earlier
