Question for new version
Hello and many thanks for Outlook Express!!!


I have installed and really love it. I have one question, can i move my emails folder path to a usb drive?

Hello Jack,

Yes you can move your dbx mail folder to external drive, But that usb drive MUST be present when you run Outlook Express. Also the Drive letter of USB drive must be the same (in case that has been changed because more drives attached). In case that it is no present and you run OE, the it will create new email folder on default path. In that case you have to change it again.

To change the email folder path, open the tray icon menu of Outlook Express and go to 'Settings'
You wll find a button for changing email folder path.

Also please remember that using usb drive for mail folders outlook express mail work slower than normal because usb speed is much slower than hard drive's.

tried it and seems to work fine, i recommend it.

There is a software called "USB Drive Letter Manager for Windows" found on http://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbdlm_e.html that can be configured to assign the same usb letter to usb stick. I will try it and will post the results
