OE6 doesn't compact folders
My Outlook Express will not compact the folders. I've tried everything I can find, but the Compact button just blinks and that is it. The .dbx files remain the same size.

Any tips?

RE: OE6 doesn't compact folders
I've deleted over 500 unwanted/unnecessary emails and numerous folders. I would think the Compact would be able to do its job and reduce the dbx files and their size.

RE: OE6 doesn't compact folders
Actually folder compacting will reduce the blank entried of deleted messages. That means that if you delete an email, the dbx file size may not change.
But if you compact folders after deleting messages then the size of dbx file will be reduced.
So since you deleted messages you can now compact folders.
